CamelBak

It’s widely believed that camels can survive for long periods of time without drinking water because their humpscontained H2O to sustain them—one of those myths that makes sense on the surface, but isn’t based on fact. (Their humps are actually filled with fatty tissue, and there are several things about camels that make them able to keep on truckin’ without stopping for a hydration break).
What isn’t a myth is how the Petaluma, Calif.-based company called CamelBak ran with the misconception and created the first hands-free, backpack-style hydration system, which proved to be insanely popular with mountain bikers and motocross riders (who were increasingly known for those telltale “humps” on their backs). This innovative company then ran scientific studies that showed athletes drank a lot more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak and the word spread: thanks to the hikers, runners, snowboarders and skiers who turned on to this state-of-the-art system, CamelBak is still the world leader when it comes to sports hydration. They were also the first to market truly BPA-free plastic drinking bottles--we love that innovative spirit!
