Giro
Don’t you just love it when one guy’s groundbreaking idea changes the face of a sport (or two, or three…)? We do too, and that’s only one of the reasons we’re thrilled to feature Giro helmets at Play Outdoors. Giro got its start in 1985 in the garage of designer and bike racer Jim Gentes, who was
determined to create a lightweight adult cycling helmet. The Giro helmet’s signature venting and sleek style was born with a little help from NASA (yeah, the space people.) The result was a bike helmet that weighed half what traditional brain buckets did at the time and still met the industry’s tough safety standards. Not to mention it looked good—bonus! Giro’s family of noggin savers has since grown to include ski and snowboard helmets as well as their well-known cycling models.
Giro teamed up with Bell Sports in 2003 and continues to perfect their premium line of helmets. Their commitment to style and safety is evident in their kids’ line, starting with the beginner’s
Me2 Youth Helmet, specifically designed for those round toddler heads. Need to get your little one excited to try two-wheeling? We’ve got Giro’s
Mike And The Bike™ and
Lucille The Wheel™ Value Packs, which include a special helmet with fun graphics and a book to get them pumped and ready to roll. Once they’re ready to really start flying, we’ve got the superlight
Flume (it’s got 20 air vents!) and the popular
Rodeo too. All of our Giro kids’ helmets feature their patented Acu Dial™ or Mini Loc™ fit systems, and pinch-free chin straps. With Giro you know you’re getting cutting edge technology that keeps your kids safe and looking as cool as they feel.
